【摘要】:InthePIARCInternationalExperiment(1)itwasfoundthatthevolumetricmeantexturedepth(MTD)washighlycorrelatedtothespeedconstantoftheInternationalFrictionIndex.IthasbeenfoundthattheaverageoftheMPDvaluesfortheeightsegmentsusingtheCTMeterisextremelyhighlycorrelatedwiththeMTDandcanreplacethevolumetricmeasurementfordeterminationoftheMTD(2).TherecommendedrelationshipfortheestimateoftheMTDfromtheMPDbytheCTMeteris:WhereMTDandMPDareexpressedinmillimetres.Note18212;TheseequationsdifferfromthosegiveninPracticeE1845,whicharefortheestimatedtexturedepthsfromlinearprofiles.ComparisonoftheMPDandtheRMSforasurfaceprovidesinformationofthenatureofthetexture,thatis,whetherthetextureispositiveornegative(3).Analysisoftheindividualsegmentscanbeperformedtoexaminetheprofileparalleltothedirectionoftravel(SegmentsAandE)andperpendiculartothedirectionoftravel(SegmentsCandG).Thisinformationcouldbeparticularlyusefulinthestudyofsurfacesthathavetexturewithsignificantdirectionalcharacteristics.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheprocedureforobtainingandanalyzingpavementmacrotextureprofilesusingtheCircularTrackMeter(CTMeter).1.2TheCTMeterconsistsofachargecoupleddevice(CCD)laserx2013;displacementsensorthatismountedonanarmthatrotatessuchthatthedisplacementsensorfollowsacirculartrackhavingadiameterof284mm.1.3TheCTMeterisdesignedtomeasurethesamecirculartrackthatismeasuredbytheDynamicFrictionTester(DFTester).1.4TheCTMetercanbeusedbothforlaboratoryinvestigationsandinthefieldonactualpavedsurfaces.1.5ThesoftwaredevelopedfortheCTMeterreportsthemeanprofiledepth(MPD)andtherootmeansquare(RMS)valuesofthemacrotextureprofiles.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
