【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthequantitativedeterminationofadditiveelementsinunusedlubricatingoils,asshownin.ThistestmethodislimitedtotheuseofenergydispersiveX-rayfluorescence(EDXRF)spectrometersemployinganX-raytubeforexcitationinconjunctionwiththeabilitytoseparatethesignalsofadjacentelements.Thistestmethodusesinterelementcorrectionfactorscalculatedfromempiricalcalibrationdata.Thistestmethodisnotsuitableforthedeterminationofmagnesiumandcopperattheconcentrationspresentinlubricatingoils.Thistestmethodexcludeslubricatingoilsthatcontainchlorineorbariumasanadditiveelement.ThistestmethodcanbeusedbypersonswhoarenotskilledinX-rayspectrometry.Itisintendedtobeusedasaroutinetestmethodforproductioncontrolanalysis.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationstouse.
